The City of Pula with the region of Istria candidates to become the European Capital of Culture for Croatia in the year of 2020 and has teamed up an organization for this purpose.

Pula 2020 intends to establish collaboration agreements and to develop joint initiatives with European municipalities, institutions, foundations, associations and individual cultural agents which will carry out projects together and incorporate them into the bid’s strategic targets and scope.

Such agreements and initiatives are coherent with the strategic cultural, social, economic and urban priorities of the city of Pula and the region of Istria for the period between the years 2014 and 2022 and therewith lead to sustainable relationships no matter the outcome of the candidacy.

On the basis of the aforementioned premises, Samos 2021 European Capital of Culture Candidate City represented by the Mayor of Samos, Mr Michalis Angelopoulos and Pula 2020 European Capital of Culture Candidate City, represented by the Mayor of Pula, Mr Boris Miletić agree upon the following:
